Harvest Fast Day Briefings: Book your place!

By Sarah Vincent, Social Media Volunteer

Are you ready for Harvest Fast Day?

There are only 73 days left until Harvest Fast Day, so book your place now for a Harvest Fast Day Briefing! That is 73 days until CAFOD takes you to the Catholic community on an amazing journey to El Salvador.

Community in El Salvador

In order to guarantee the success of this journey, we need all of our fantastic parish volunteers to gain an insight into our project for Harvest Fast Day. The best way you can do this is by joining us at one of our many Harvest Fast Day briefings. At these briefings, you will be given everything you need to know in order to be prepared for Harvest Fast Day 2017.

You will be presented with information about a community seed bank; you will hear about people like Endelmira and her husband Martir who are farmers in an area with a hard land to cultivate. Additionally, we will inform you about a project where they can “Plant the seeds that one day will grow” (Archbishop Oscar Romero prayer).

Book a briefing today:

Connect2: El Salvador visitors return home

“The visits to parishes will stay with me most. Everyone in our church at home is waiting to hear about our experience. We’re going to make a mural showing all that we have done. We’re going to do our best to share the riches of faith you have here with our community.”

Make sure you visit the Connect2: El Salvador blog to read about how Sandra, Erasmo, Julia and Fidel journeyed across England and Wales, where they met Connect2 supporters and visited parishes, farms, foodbanks and community projects!

What is Connect2: El Salvador?

The project is a CAFOD scheme that will enable supporters to share the lives of ordinary people in El Salvador and to raise money to help them build a better future. Through regular updates, we share their hopes and dreams and stand in solidarity with them as they overcome difficulties. You can learn more about the scheme on the Connect2: El Salvador blog, and more information is also available about the Connect2 project as a whole – which works in BangladeshBrazilCambodia,El SalvadorEthiopia and Rwanda – on the CAFOD website.
