It’s not too late to book your place on Saturday’s Harvest Family Fast Day Briefing! You will receive all the resources you need to prepare for Family Fast Day, meet other volunteers and hear from CAFOD’s director about her recent visit to Uganda!
Why are you attending?
We asked some CAFOD volunteers why they are attending Saturday’s briefing and here are their answers.
“The reason I like to attend the fast day briefings, is not only because it is refreshing to hear about CAFOD’s work with tangible examples from different countries (Uganda this time round is particularly close to my heart!) and experiences from staff who work there or have visited them, but I also draw inspiration from the many (new and familiar) faces of volunteers and VC staff I meet at these events. These events really do renew my motivation to support the efforts of CAFOD to ensure no one is beyond reach!”- Nick
“I felt better informed and inspired about the project the last time I attended such a session. I also wish to make contact with another volunteer who will be attending the session.”- Anne
“I understand the Chief Executive will be present. I am attending because I want to meet her.” – Vicky
How will I be equipped?
Saturday’s briefing will equip you with the information you need to inspire your community to join in this Family Fast Day.
- The day is an opportunity to hear all about CAFOD’s projects in Uganda, and how CAFOD is helping children like Fabiano to remain safe and in education.
- You will also be able to meet other volunteers from all different Dioceses, discuss your experiences, gain ideas from others and learn the best ways to motivate your community.
- You can discover how to use the Harvest Family Fast Day resources in your parish
- Lastly, you will be given an overview of how CAFOD has used the donations raised last Family Fast Day at Lent, to help some of the poorest communities in the world.
