A school dinner with a difference

Notre Dame hunger lunch

Sad students experiencing a hunger lunch

Notre Dame RC High School in Southwark organised a school dinner that pupils will always remember as some went hungry while others had a delicious feast.

The dinner raised awareness of world hunger as some students were served dry bread, beans and a cup of water while others feasted on cupcakes and ice cream. Students also had a thought-provoking presentation from CAFOD School Volunteer Paul and had a chance to experience what it would be like to lift and carry ten litres of water.

How far can you walk carrying ten litres of water?

A big thank you to the school and students for joining in this interesting experience and raising over £1,200 to help our poorer sisters and brothers around the world this Lent.
