Day 4 began and it was the second to last of St Thomas the Apostle College (STAC) Charity week…
Candy-coated funds for charity
Ms Asirelli with form 10.1 and Mr Charalambos, Ms Casserly with forms 10.5& 10.6 hosted a tuck shop and cake sale respectively. Even on the fourth day of offered sweets and cakes, the pupils continued to show great desire for a cake. Although it shows that many STAC students have a big sweet tooth, more importantly it shows they will to give to charity and ‘help thy neighbour’, the message our saviour wanted us to listen to and act upon. Big thanks to all who brought in items and even bigger thanks to form 10.1, 10.5 and 10.6 tutors and tutees for doing their slice for CAFOD.
Gaming for Charity
Mr Ademolake and Mr Stott along with their respective form groups 10.3 and 10.4 hosted a FIFA 15 tournament (much to delight of the whole school). For those who don’t know what FIFA is… it’s a football video game and is considered to be one of the most popular games in the world with millions of people playing each day. Many students happily paid the hefty £1.50 entry fee to play while many were just as excited to watch on the big screen of the Drama Studio for a price of 50p!
Footballing for Charity
Ms Harrison and form 10.2 hosted a football tournament for Year 10. As a lot of people know, many STAC boys are football crazy and will jump at any chance to play the ‘beautiful game,’ so getting people involved was a very easy task. Form groups 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, 10.4 and 10.5 all contested to be called the champions with form 10.1 coming out on top. Thank you to all the players of the tournament as well as Ms Harrison for organising it and Mr Shodunke for being the referee.
