For this year’s Harvest Fast Day talk, Jed Murphy went to St Osmund’s Church in Barnes West London.
St Osmund’s is located in Barnes West London. I spoke at the Masses on the weekend of 20th & 21st of September – which is a little ahead of the Harvest Fast Day on October 3rd.
1 in 8 of the world’s population, the vast majority being the poorest women, men and children, go to bed hungry each night. This year’s Harvest appeal asks people to ‘make room at their table‘ – and to share the feast that God spreads for all. It was a really powerful message.
It’s always humbling to hear how the money raised from our Fast Day’s helps families across the world recover from the long lasting impacts of war and famine. Over the last 2 year’s CAFOD has helped almost 250,000 people have access to clean water.
We had some really great comments of support from the congregation. My great thanks to Fr Marappillil for making me so welcome.
