This is a brilliant opportunity, from which both your parish and CAFOD could benefit.
CAFOD volunteer Peter Bull MBE is a qualified first aid instructor and has offered to run first aid courses in parishes across the diocese.
There are options for a one-day Emergency First Aid or three-day Qualified First Aider course, with all profits from the cost of the courses going to CAFOD. Participants will receive a certificate accredited by Kent First Aid T raining Ltd.
With Summer outings, parish barbecues and fêtes coming up, this is a great opportunity for people in your parish to gain first aid skills at a good price and in a way which will also help those we work with, around the world, prepare for and deal with emergencies.
You can read about the very successful First Aid day that took place over at CAFOD Westminster. Not only did the twelve participants who took part leave with a signed certificate and potentially life-saving new knowledge and skills, they also raised more than £500 for CAFOD. If your parish has a group of five or more people interested in learning and receiving a certificate in emergency first aid, you could do the same!
To find out how to arrange a session in your parish, contact us by email or by phoning the CAFOD Southwark Office on 020 8466 9901. Peter will provide all the equipment needed so we are just looking for venues to host the training, where it could be advertised to the parish.
