On Thursday the 15 November, year 8 students from St Philomena’s High School in Carshalton, organised a cake sale for CAFOD. As part of the Schools club of Faith Revealed, the students wanted to raise money for the Philippines through CAFOD’s Typhoon Haiyan Appeal.
Students Lauren and Kendra said:
“We had a massive cake sale to raise money for the Philippines due to the previous natural disaster that they experienced. We support this because Lauren is from the Philippines, although most of her family is safe, some members are still unheard of.”
Molly another member of the group said:
“It was a huge success, and was so popular that we needed to hold people back from entering! There were all sorts of cakes that we sold, including Red Velvet, Lemon Drizzle, Chocolate Cupcakes and Honey Cake. In the end, we raised £144.05, and I’m very happy with that.”
We want to say a huge thank you from CAFOD to all the students at St Philomena’s who organised or participated in this wonderful event!
