St Thomas the Apostle Walk for Hunger

“Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you?”

Matthew 25: 37

This week, Mrs Elderfield from St Thomas the Apostle College tells us about the Walk for Hunger that they recently completed!

‘Students and Staff from St Thomas the Apostle completed a Bridge Walk in Central London.  We began at Tower Bridge and walked eight bridges in 2hrs 15 minutes to raise money for CAFOD, our Lenten charity.  The students showed enthusiasm and energy, gaining support from each other as they walked whilst in the midst of some of the best sights in London.  This was our first Bridge Walk and we are determined to continue this tradition for our school community next year.

On Monday 29th April, St Thomas the Apostle College were delighted to welcome David Murray, a representative from CAFOD to speak to Year 7 students about the work of the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development. He explained the levels of extreme poverty and hunger that many people experience every day in our world today and that the money raised would help people to become independent and self-sufficient.
