The 100 Days of Peace Group and the London Catholic Brazilian Chaplaincy have organised a Mass to celebrate the 100 Days of Peace Legacy.
When: Sunday October 28th 2012, 3pm
Where: St George’s Cathedral, Lambeth Road, Southwark SE1 7HY
This Mass will be concelebrated by Archbishops Peter Smith, Vincent Nichols, Mgr John Armitage, and a bishop of the Brazilian hierarchy. There will be a reception after Mass in the Amigo Hall with an exhibition and handover to the Brazilian community of souvenirs of London’s 100 Days of Peace activities.
October 28th marks the 50th day after the close of the Paralympics. This Mass will celebrate what has been achieved, point the way to our task in the future, and hand the peace legacy on to the Brazilian Catholic community. Brazil will host the next Olympic Games in Rio in 2016, as well as the World Youth Day in 2013 and World Cup in 2014. This Mass will reflect our joint concerns for peace on the local, national and international stage.
