Pope Paul VI Memorial Lecture 2011Are you passionate about social justice for the poor?  If you are, then have you considered coming to this year’s Pope Paul VI Memorial lecture, which will be taking place on Friday 18 November?

This year’s speaker, Fr Christopher Jamison (a Benedictine monk) has promised us a lively lecture in which he’s going to confront a whole manner of things including; the way we view poverty, both in this country and overseas; the changing uses of social media; the reasons behind the explosion of violence on the streets of the UK earlier this year; as well as an impassioned argument for a reform of the banking sector.

You can find out more information about Fr Christopher and the lecture at www.cafod.org.uk/lecture

All those attending the lecture are welcome to stay afterwards for a drink and some nibbles at the post-lecture reception where there will be a great chance for young people interested in social justice and international affairs to meet CAFOD staff and other like minded people. A group of us will also be heading to a very reasonable Indian restaurant opposite the church venue for a curry after the reception if anyone would like to join us . On top of all that, the lively Shoreditch and Brick Lane are very close for any who want to carry on their Friday night.

Tickets for the lecture and the reception are only £4 for young adults and booking tickets is really simple – just call us on 020 7095 5684, with your debit or credit card ready, and you’ll be done in 2 minutes.

We hope to see you there!
